It looks so official...

It is amazing how it is the little stuff that gets me all excited :) Every time I drive down Central, I look over and see our new sign on side of our building and I just get excited. If you have not had a chance yet, you need to come by. The picture does not do it justice!! (Note....the blue tent is not part of the school, but it was where our awesome DJ's set up during the mixer....if you didn't make this mixer, be sure and come to the next one because it will be just as fantastic!)

Speaking of official, I had my first day here today with our new Head of School, Connie Nobbe. Today was her official first day as the ISC Head of School. If you would like to meet Connie or have any questions, call 812.376.7000 to set up an appointment.

Last night was my first night of Summer Fair Tour 2009. Jennings County has a great fair. I met many really great families. If I had a funnel cake for every time someone said to me, "I wish they had had something like this when I was in school", well, I would have a lot of funnel cakes!! But, truth be told, I feel the same way. I would have loved the opportunity that ISC is giving our students.

One question that I had asked several times was, "What kind of student would this school be good for?" My answer....anyone. We say we are "IB for all" and we mean it. This is an opportunity for more than the top 5% of students. This is an opportunity for any student and family that wants to make a commitment to the education they will be getting. Our families will be key to our student's success. The teachers are excited and ready to do their part. The next step is the parents and students.
Tonight was my second fair day. I had several really interested families and had a new student enroll! That is what makes the long days and nights worthwhile. Well, that and the deep-friend Oreos!!!
